My Eco Village

The Show

My Ecovillage encompasses how to reduce our carbon footprint now & for future generations,
whether in an existing residence or from the ground up, by learning from those living the
dream. Our hosts, Amrta, chef & founder of R.A.W. Republik  & Gabriela, creator of Souluzion,
visit established EcoVillages, from LA to La Paz & learn from them what worked & what didn’t
& implement it in our own EcoVillage experiment!
We present new building modes & materials, steps in achieving food & fuel independence &
how to return to our roots as social beings, not cogs in an industrial machine.  My Eco-Village is
a great opportunity to showcase sustainable technologies, experimental architecture and green
products.  We interview people who created theses technologies & use them & ultimately
implement ourselves on the show!  Believe it or not, many green technologies on the market
today, were invented in EcoVillages.
Another evolution of the EcoVillage movement is the secondary positive impact it has had in
human interaction in that the more you care about the environment, the more you naturally
begin caring about your neighbor.  These Ecovillages are communities that are developing new
models of human interaction, be it, alternative currencies or consensus-based decision-making,
in any case, they are fascinating subjects for the audience to study.
My Ecovillage begins with the EcoTeam traveling to their destination of the week in their
MobileVillage, a refurbished Airstream, customized with solar panels, a gray water system &
maybe even some hydroponic herbs growing the window sill.  They are greeted by the residents
of the EcoVillage and after a brief historical overview of the location, the eco-village
spokesperson leads us around the grounds. Gabriela interviews the residents to get their insight
& experience of co-housing & eco-living & examines the structures & technologies used to
reduce their carbon toll. Amrta shares the local farming techniques and prepares healthy treats
for the residents & viewing audience. Eco-Crew breaks down the ease of recreating the model
featured on the show & checks in with the local team to see how they’re progressing with
the project. My Ecovillage wraps up with a how-to segment and invitation to tune in
the following week when the Eco-Crew visits their next village.
The time is now to find “souluzions”– ‘cause ultimately we all want to be part of the “souluzion”,
don’t you?
